Fiat - A success story

The first, now classic Fiat 500 Topolino was built in 1937. It was followed by the Fiat 500 Nuova and its successor models, as we know and love them. Its striking, endearing appearance made the Fiat 500 a success story for the vehicle manufacturer. It continued to develop over the period up to 1975 and also became more and more technically sophisticated. The 479 cc engine grew from 499 cc to 594 cc. The body shape became more varied, such as the Giardiniera or the Jolly. The equipment was of a higher quality, with a fuel gauge, window cranks and various optical trims.

1955 saw the launch of the Fiat 500's big brother, the Fiat 600, which had the same rounded appearance but was designed to accommodate a family of four. With its 633 cc engine, the Fiat 600 was capable of almost 110 km/h. One year after its market launch, the Fiat 600 Multipla appeared, which offered space for up to six people and was also used as a taxi.
