Wiring harness, fuse box and switches
To make the vehicle's electrical system usable, the vintage Fiat needs a lot of switches and cables. The wiring harness, which is usually available as a prefabricated spare part, forms the nervous system. With the help of the wiring diagram, it can be laid out precisely. It connects the electrical devices, such as the starter, lighting and ignition, with the control devices, the switches.
A fuse box is located centrally in the distribution of the wiring harness, which, with the various fuses, prevents damage to the Fiat classic car caused by excessive power surges.
The vehicle's electrical system is controlled by the various switches. The steering column switch, which is located centrally on the steering wheel, plays the main role here. But other switches in the dashboard also have an important function. The vehicle and dashboard lighting is controlled here, and the windscreen wipers are switched on and off. The ignition lock is also a switch in the true sense of the word, virtually THE main switch of the vehicle.
Integrated into the wiring harness are various indicator lights that show the driver whether all connected components are doing their job.
