Who finds the Fiat?

Today we would like to introduce you to a completely unusual customer from our spare parts business; a company with locomotives for tourists and events!

What sounds unimaginable at first is that a large part of this charming vehicle consists of parts from Fiat 500 and 126. The locomotive is made of fiberglass with the base plate of a VW Beetle. The front axle comes from a VW T1 bus, as does the rear axle. The rims and axles are partly from the Fiat 500, partly also from the iconic "Bulli". So you could say that they worked with class ...!
The train was manufactured in 1980 by Dotto Castelfraco in Italy.

With the built-in 1600 cm motor, the locomotive has a proud output of 50 hp. The entire vehicle has a total weight of 6.7 tons and may only be driven by people with a class DE (bus with trailer) driving license in Germany. A total of 36 people can be transported with the vehicle and all three trailers (hooray, enough space for a company party with distance!).
The trailers are all-axle steered, so two front axles are installed each. The brakes have been converted to a dual-circuit air brake system.

If you want to have a closer look at this beauty, take a tour to the beautiful Timmendorfer Strand! That is where "TIDO" takes large and small tourists for rides during the summer season.

Have you carried out a special restoration on your Fiat? Have you had an exciting journey with him? Or any other anecdote or snapshot that you would share with us and our Fiat community?
Write us a message, we look forward to
hearing from you!
